One exciting weekend…last weekend, Memorial Day weekend, we took the girls up to Stony Lake (my parent’s barn) and camped in the barn in our new 1979 motor home! My parents gave us the motor home a few weeks ago and we told the girls we were going camping. We only camped in the barn for one night and then we took it on the road…to Ludington State Park. Oh boy, it was interesting. Since the motor home only has two seat belts in the very front and two seat belts in the “back” we had to be a little creative in how we positioned the three car seats. We stuck two in the back and one in the front with Jerry. On the way up to Ludington Ally sat in front with Jerry and on the way home Lauren sat up front. I, being the only one NOT buckled, was VERY thankful we didn’t get in a car crash! Other than that the ride was quite peaceful because we couldn’t hear anything, the motor home is quite LOUD (and because the girls all fell fast asleep).Talking is just about out of the question in that thing…if any words were to be said, it was in as loud of a voice as you can possibly yell.

The weather held out most of the 4 days that we were camping, except for Tuesday…we woke up to rain and I woke up to the thought, “we have to pack up and get out of here, and everything that we left outside last night is SOAKED!” (Not to mention the raccoons that had helped themselves to everything that was left out.)

The girls had a great time. They did very well without decent naps and they even slept in most of the mornings…and have continued to sleep in the rest of this week, there is a God!

We were camping with our friends, the Russell’s, Marty, Chancey, Logan, and Averi. Logan and Ally are 5 months apart and Lauren and Olivia are 1 year older than Averi. All the kids got along great and loved playing in the DIRT together. Yup, the DIRT…oh I could go on for days about the DIRT, but I won’t bore you with my hatred for the DIRT. Wow, I never knew that kids (and Jerry’s feet) could ever get so DIRTY! I’m just glad that most of the DIRT came out of the clothes!
(Logan, Averi, and Ally playing in the DIRT.)
Lauren holding her baby, notice the DIRT on her legs, face, hands, shoes...well, EVERYWHERE!

While we were camping Jerry took Ally with Marty and Logan fishing. The kids had a blast “fishing” for about 3 minutes and then it was back to playing in the DIRT. They didn’t catch anything (obviously, since they were playing in the DIRT), but they saw a few fish swim by. While they were “fishing”, Chancey and I took the three little girls for a walk. While on our walk we saw four deer. It was pretty cool and they didn’t even run from us. They must be used to people. The girls loved the deer, said "hello deer" and "good-bye deer" to them.

I guess that’s about all from our camping trip. It was an exciting one. Next time anyone who wants to join us, is more than welcome. We love camping in our new motor home (or bus as the girls call it) and we’d love to have company…Marty & Chancey, are you up for some more DIRT-filled-fun?

Another Mother’s Day has come and gone. I truly never think of it as a holiday and to be completely honest with you I don’t feel like I deserve anything special because I feel so blessed to have my three girls, I don’t need anything else.

This year was a little more special for me because my girls are growing up so fast and they actually ALL wished me a Happy Mother’s Day, not that they know what it really means, but they all said it and it was special to me.

Friday night our church put on a Fancy Nancy party for all mothers and daughters. I invited my mom to go with the girls and I. My mom invited my Aunt Joyce, my cousin Kelli, and her daughter (my other cousin) Liza. My God-mother also was there with her granddaughter Kirbi. We all had such a great time. The girls got to make bracelets, they put stickers on sunglasses, they had a lesson on posture and bowing, they had cupcakes and pink punch, Jackie, from the Cascade Library goes to our church and she read the kids a Fancy Nancy story and a Gigi story, and then we all got to dance to Disney music. The night was a blast for all of us.
On Sunday Jerry let me sleep in a little bit, then the girls all came up to wish me a Happy Mother’s Day and to see what I wanted for breakfast. They ended up making me chocolate chip muffins…mmmm… After breakfast we all got ready and went up to Jerry’s mom’s for lunch. Then we went to my mom’s for dinner. The day ended up being very nice and the weather was great too, which always helps!

My girls are the best and I am very lucky and very blessed to have them in my life! I love you little ladies!
