Another busy week for us, especially for Ally. She had VBS (Vacation Bible School) at church Monday – Thursday evening from 6-8:30 pm, plus she had preschool Tuesday and Thursday all day long. She loved VBS and she did very well. I was a crew leader as well, which meant that I was “in charge of three preschoolers”…which in turn meant nine, not three. I did have help, but it was still a lot to handle. I had to take the group of kids from adventure to adventure: crafts, bible story, snack, games, and bible adventure. It was quite the learning experience for me, but I would do it again in a heartbeat! Seeing the kids having fun and learning about God was awesome, not just for me, but for the kids at well.

All week we learned about Moses. (See Ally and her friends around the ‘burning bush’.) Each night they had a snack that portrayed the lesson for the day. And each of the games they played also dealt with the story. The crafts on the other hand were a little out of reach of the story, but they were still pretty fun for the kids. Pictured here is Ally with her friend Lizzy.

On the last night, we discussed Jesus’ crusifiction and how he died on the cross for our sins. And He actually showed up and took all our sins away! (Ally loved seeing Jesus!) Each day we learned a new saying:
Day 1: God is always with us.
Day 2: God is powerful.
Day 3: God does what he says he’ll do.
Day 4: God gives us life.
Today in church was the 5th day of VBS. We learned that God cares for us. All the kids got up in front and sang some of the songs for the congregation. Of course Ally wasn’t too fond of this idea…so she just stood there with a frown. She really wanted Jesus to come back, but he didn’t.

What a great week! I can’t wait for next year…ALL three girls will go…oh boy!
