November 12 & 13, 2010

Jerry has been waiting for this day to happen for about a year and a half. He's worked hard in his classes, worked even harder during his MCOLES physical test, and after his 65 page application was turned in, he waited nearly two months to get an interview for the Police Academy. November 4 at 8:00 am, he was sitting in a small conference room with the Director of the Police Academy, 3 uniform police officers from around the county, and one cadet from this years academy video taping the interview that would get him into the 2011 GRCC Police Academy!

November 11: Jerry went to the mailbox about 4-5 times waiting for the mail to arrive. He was waiting on a letter from the Police Academy to see if he got in or not. After waiting all day, he finally realized that it was Veteran's Day and that the mail doesn't come on Veteran's Day. So....

November 12: Again, he waited around 1/2 the day until the mailman finally brought the mail. Too bad, the letter wasn't in there. While I was at work, my good friend, Bo, who happens to be a GRCC Police Officer and a Police Academy Instructor stopped by to see me. I kept pressuring him to ask the Police Academy Director all week if Jerry got in or not. He kept teasing me that he wouldn't tell even if he did find out. That afternoon he found out and later that evening he text me and said "tell your husband he's got a busy year ahead of him." Right then and there I ran outside and told Jerry that he got in!

November 13: He finally got his letter of Congratulations and he starts the academy on January 6/7.

We are all so proud of him and everything he has accomplished this past year and a half to get to where he is right now! Now we just have to get through the next year, specifically January thru October. It's going to be a long year for all of us, since all his classes are in the evening from 5-10:30 pm. Please pray for all of us, because you know we will be!
